Producing all kinds of cold-formed standard bolts, screws and nuts between 3 millimeters and 27 millimeters, and manufacturing all kinds of special fasteners according to the customer demands; Çetin Cıvata continues its activities with 42 years of production experience.

Stating that they currently manufacture 40 % of the bolts, screws and fasteners for the sectors of automotive and white goods, Çetin Cıvata Deputy Director General Cenk Turfanda has informed us about the investments of Tecde Group and the importance of HEFI.

SUBCONTURKEY: Could you inform us about the productions and investments of the affiliate companies of Tecde Group in 2017-2018 producing and selling to the fasteners sector?

Cenk Turfanda: As Tecde Group, we made around 30 thousand tons of production in our three companies Çetin Cıvata A.Ş., Mertsom Somun (Factory in Hadımköy) and Tekno Bağlantı (Factory in Malatya) in 2017.

Our target for 2018 is to produce 50 thousand tons of products. Total export of these three companies is 40 %. We have over 750 employees. Our factory in Malatya will move to 25.000 meter squares of indoors this year. Our indoor area in Istanbul is 50 thousand meter squares. We produce and stock in 145 thousand meter squares of outdoor area, and 75 thousand meter squares of indoor area in total.

Our company Mertsom produces special products, and it has targets for growing. The company produces cold-formed products mainly dependent on nuts for the subsidiary industries of automotive and white goods. The area where the factory located was not enough. The area needed to extend. Because we needed to make new machinery investments, we carried it to a new place in Hadımköy. New machines will arrive this year. Mertsom has the capacity of 200 tons monthly; however, we will increase our capacity to 300 tons with the new machines. Mertsom produced 1200 tons last year. Our target for 2018 is to produce 2000 tons. Because we make special productions, it would not be right to evaluate it as tonnage; however, our target is to increase this amount to 500 tons in the future. Mertsom will become a factory producing 6000 tons of special products annually in the next 5 years.

We moved our wiredrawing unit to that building, and we moved our coating plant to the same region. Thus, we saved 3000 meter squares of area in Çetin Cıvata A.Ş. (Factory in Çatalca). Advanced technology machines will arrive in this area, and we will continue investing in our group companies.

We will purchase new machines in 2018 and 2019 as well. 2018 investment plans of our group include the additional investments in the coating and heat treatment plants, purchase of new machines for the three locations, and factory construction investments worth 13 million USD in total.

SUBCONTURKEY: Could you evaluate the importance of HEFI for the sector?

Cenk Turfanda:  Turkey has a significant position in the white goods and subsidiary industry worldwide, and strengthens this position gradually. While the Turkish white goods industry has such an ambition, an exhibition will be beneficial, where the country could exhibit its own technology and products and meet the consumers and customers. HEFI will prove the power of the Turkish white goods sector one more time. We believe the exhibition will contribute to the export positively by creating new market and collaboration opportunities. We will participate in the exhibition as a supplier of the white goods sector.
