Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Could you introduce yourself briefly?
Eray Gönenli: I was born in Eskişehir. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University. I am the general manager of the company. Besides, I am a member of BEYSAD Board of Directors and TOBB Eskişehir Young Entrepreneurs Executive Board.
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Could you inform us about the corporate identity of Anot?
Eray Gönenli: Anot was established in 1982. Anot incorporates 5 companies serving in different fields and sectors. These fields are automation, mechatronics & robotics, electricity, plastic & mould and built-in hoods. We serve in 5 locations in total. Eskişehir is the city where our headquarters and production plant are located. We have a warehouse and a sales office in Bursa, a sales office in Istanbul, regional staff in the Aegean Region and a local company in Qatar. We continue our activities with a total of 200 employees, including over 40 engineers.
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Could you give information about your products and your current production capacity?
Eray Gönenli: We have been active in the field of plastic injection parts and mould production for 25 years. Anot carries out all stages of the production in the field of plastic injection and moulding with its strong production line and professional staff. As a result of the investments together with the production of plastic parts, our activities continue in plastic injection mould and special machine manufacturing projects. Plastic parts are produced for mainly the white goods sector besides the aviation, automotive, machinery, electronics, electricity, hardware and furniture sectors, and pad printing is carried out within our own structure in line with the demands.
In addition, we have been conducting projects in Turkey and abroad for 39 years in our business model, where we use the words automation, and recently digitalization, starting from the automatic control. In line with the developing technology and customer demands, we have completed turnkey power projects and automation projects in various fields, and we have taken our place among the significant companies of our country in these fields. Our sales organization is managed together with our project team. As of 2021, we provide services for sales in a production and warehouse area of 22,000 square meters, with 200 different product groups and a total of 165,000 stock cycles. We have a strong sales organization for both project groups to quickly supply the material from stock and to provide product support with the selection of hardware for the companies or selling spare parts in the projects we conduct.
Anot Exports 30 Percent of Products
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: What percent of the production does Anot export? Which countries do you specifically export to?
Eray Gönenli: We export about 30% of our products. We mainly export to the USA, Italy, Spain, Poland, Qatar, Tunisia, Romania, Germany, South Africa, Brazil, Pakistan Oman, Russia, Thailand, Bulgaria, Albania, India, Georgia and Dubai.
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: How was 2020 for Anot under pandemic conditions? What are your targets for 2021? Can you evaluate your figures for the first 5 months?
Eray Gönenli: We fell behind our targets during the first 6 months of 2020 due to the pandemic, and we think that our inability to visit domestic and international exhibitions, lack of customer visits and the cessation of shipments had a major impact on this. While certain sectors came to a standstill during this period, some sectors experienced a serious achievement. We started to work with different sectors to complete this process in the best way. With our breakthroughs and the strategies we implemented during the last 6 months, we completed 2020 with a growth of approximately 30% compared to 2019.
Considering the first half of 2021, we are far above our targets. We targeted to grow approximately 50 % in 2021. According to the current situation, I predict that we can easily achieve this target. The main factors of this prediction are the capacity growth with the new factory, a serious increase in demand and the increase in raw material prices.
Anot to Open Sales Offices in Romania and Germany
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Do you plan to make factory investments in Turkey or abroad? Do you have any other investment plans?
Eray Gönenli: We have a sales office located in Qatar. Besides, we have plans to open sales offices in Romania and Germany in the medium term. Currently, we do not have any plans to invest in a factory abroad. However, during the last quarter of 2021, we plan to activate a factory investment of 22,000 square meters in the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone, where some part of the production and warehouse will be put into operation.
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Could you give information about your investments regarding digitalization and Industry 4.0?
Eray Gönenli: As Anot, we have a 100% ERP integrated system. In addition, as we have been using the field data collection system for many years, we have seen the advantages of this system during this period. We are able to follow all the production in the factory live on the web at any time. We have made serious investments to increase the level of automation in production during the pandemic period by moving towards the dark factory with Industry 4.0, and we plan to accelerate these investments in the upcoming period. We believe that the level of digitalization should increase in order for factories and warehouses to be more agile and efficient so that competition can continue.
With the effect of the pandemic, we took our place in the digital marketplaces and started our sales. Due to the pandemic, we accelerated building our e-commerce website, which we planned to open this year. Our process continues at full speed and will be put into operation in 2021.
Home Aplpliances Turkey Suppliers Magazine: Could you evaluate the last year and share your predictions for the upcoming period regarding the white goods sector ?
Eray Gönenli: The white goods sector has become one of the fastest growing sectors with the effect of the pandemic. The fact that people have spent more time in their homes has led them to advance, change or renew the items they use at home. This has also positively affected the sectors of white goods, from small to large, used in homes. We think that 2021 will end much ahead of the previous year. However, with the serious increase in raw material prices and the opening of the tourism sector, we predict that the growth rate will decrease towards the end of 2021, as people start to allocate a little more budget to the social life.
